OS X 매버릭스 GM 버전에서 최종 버전 설치하기

일반적으로 iOS나 OS X의 GM(Golden Master) 버전은 최종 버전과 동일하다. 그런데 이번에 정식으로 출시된(게다가 무료로!) OS X 매버릭스 최종 버전은 사용중인 GM1 버전과 빌드 넘버가 달랐다.(GM1은 13A598, GM2와 최종은 13A603)

문제는 GM 버전이 적용된 상태에서 맥 앱스토어에서 최종 버전의 다운로드가 되지 않는다는 것이다. 이미 설치되어 있다는 메시지와 함께 풀버전을 다운로드하려면 ‘계속’ 버튼을 누르라고 나오는데, 계속 버튼을 눌러도 절대 다운로드되지 않는다. 맥 앱스토어 상단에서 뭐가 돌아가긴 하지만.

검색을 해보니 몇가지 해법이 나왔다. (번역은 역시 발번역이 제맛)

Downloading the installer onto a Mac already running Mavericks: If you already have Mavericks—either the official release or the golden master (the final developer release, a.k.a., the GM)—installed on a Mac, you may have problems downloading the final-version installer onto that Mac. The Mac App Store app may think you already have the installer and, thus, not offer to let you download it again. (This was a common issue with Lion, although much less so with Mountain Lion and Mavericks, but I mention it here just in case.) If this happens to you, launch the Mac App Store app and Option+click the Purchases tab in the toolbar; that should show the Download button next to Mavericks in the Purchases list. If that doesn’t work, Option+click Mavericks in the list and then Option+click the Installed button on the Mavericks page. One of these two methods should let you download the installer.

매버릭스가 이미 실행중인 맥에 인스톨러 다운로드하기: 만약 당신이 맥에 설치된 정식 버전이나 GM 버전의 매버릭스를 이미 가지고 있다면, 당신은 그 맥에 최정 버전 설치 파일을 다운로드하는데 문제가 있을 것이다. 맥 앱스토어 앱은 당신이 이미 설치 파일을 가지고 있다고 여겨서 그것을 다시 다운로드하게 허용하지 않는다.  (이런 경우는 라이언에서는 일반적이었지만 마운틴 라이언과 매버릭스에서는 훨씬 덜 일반적이다. 하지만 나는 이 경우를 가정하여 설명한다.) 이런 상황이 일어나면 맥 앱스토어 앱을 실행하고 옵션 키를 누른 상태에서 툴바의 ‘Purchases’ 탭을 클릭해라. 그러면 구입 목록의 ‘매버릭스’ 항목 옆에 다운로드 버튼이 나타난다. 이게 동작하지 않는다면 목록상의 ‘매버릭스’ 항목을 옵션 키를 누른 상태에서 클릭하고 ‘매버릭스’ 페이지의 ‘설치됨’ 버튼을 옵션 키와 함께 클릭해라. 이 중 하나는 인스톨러를 다운로드 받게 해 줄 것이다.

For some unknown reason, I had a previous Mavericks beta release hidden from the normal list of purchased items. Going to Store > View My Account > and clicking the Manage link under the iTunes in the Cloud section revealed the unexplained hidden Mavericks beta. Clicking Unhide and then Done was the trick needed to fix this issue.

어떤 알 수 없는 이유로, 매버릭스 베타 버전이 구입 항목의 일반 목록에서 감쳐줘 있었다. 아이튠즈에서 [스토어-내 계정 보기]로 들어간 다음 , ‘iTunes in the Cloud’ 항목 아래의 관리(Manage) 링크를 클릭하면 설명없이 감춰진 매버릭스 베타를 볼 수 있다. 감추지 않기(Unhide)를 클릭하는 것이 이 문제를 고치는 데 필요한 트릭이었다.

하지만, 위의 두 방법은 모두  나에게는 해당되지 않았다. 그래서 좀 더 찾다 보니 위의 두번째 글에 해결 방법이 담긴 댓글이 있었고 그 방법대로 해보니 다운로드가 가능했다. 진행 방법은 아래와 같다.

Final Solution

1. launch Mac App Store and leave it alone
2. launch finder go to system/library/core services and open SystemVersion.plist
3. try to change something in system version and it’s going to say you have to create another file. click on OK.
4. open new file. change version to 10.8 in the 2 bottom lines.
5. now save it. your new file will be in documents. copy it
6. go back to Core Services. change original SystemVersion.plist file to whatever you want. then paste you new file here( don’t forget to rename it as SystemVersion.plist)
7. go to App Store. click on the ”BIG MAVERICKS BANNER ON THE TOP” then click free.?
8. it will ask you to enter your id information.
9. it should start downloading.
10. when it starts to download, quit from App Store.?
11. replace systemversion.plist file with original one. otherwise App Store won’t launch
12. when you’ve done. relaunch App Store and you can see mavericks in purchased section!

1. 맥 앱스토어를 실행하고 그냥 둔다.
2. 파인더를 열어 CMD+Shift+G를 누른 다음 ‘/System/Library/CoreServices’를 입력하고 엔터를 친다.
3. SystemVersion.plist 파일을 찾아서 적당한 에디터로 연다.
4. 아래 부분에 10.9로 되어 있는 부분을 10.8로 바꾼다.
5. 그리고는 문서나 바탕화면 폴더 같은 곳에 SystemVersion.plist로 저장한다.
6. 파인더로 돌아가서 SystemVersion.plist 파일을 적당한 다른 이름으로 바꾼다. (계정 패스워드를 물을 것이다.)
7. 맥 앱스토어로 돌아가서 메인 화면에 있는 ‘크고 아름다운’ OS X 매버릭스 배너를 클릭하여 다운로드한다.
8. 이 때 앱스토어 계정을 물을 수도 있다.
9. 다운로드가 시작되고 나면(버튼이 ‘Downloading’으로 바뀜.)
10. CMD+q로 맥 앱스토어를 종료한다.?
11. 파인더로 돌아가서 SystemVersion.plist를 삭제하고(계정 패스워드 입력) 5항에서 이름을 바꾸었던 파일의 이름을 다시 SystemVersion.plist로 바꾼다.
12. 그런 다음 다시 맥 앱스토어를 실행한다. 그러면 ‘Purchases’ 탭에서 다운로드 중인 매버릭스를 보게 될 것이다.
